Specification
106mtr x 70mtr football pitch with DOMO varioslide excellence 60 surface on a dynamic base with tensar SS20 geogrid. The project included the installation of weldmesh surround fencing and floodlighting. The ‘FA spec’ installation is designed primarily for football but is also used for some rugby training.

Procurement
The project was tendered by the school’s consultant followed by post tender negotiation with the client’s representative. The pitch was funded by the School, the District Council and the Football Foundation.

The installation was designed and supervised by John Cadman Associates – part of the CMPB group.

Details
The Pingle School, opened in 1965, is a co-educational, comprehensive foundation School for pupils aged between 11-18 years. Specialist accommodation at the School includes a range of science laboratories, technology block, music rooms, new sports hall, gymnasium, swimming pool, library and many outdoor sports facilities.
The School aims to develop the sporting ability of each individual, both within the curriculum and by offering a wide range of extra curricular activities. The School is particularly strong in soccer, regularly winning a range of local trophies.

The official opening of the pitch by Sir Trevor Brooking CBE took place in November 06.

Independent testing by Paul Hawkins Development Limited was carried out to ensure compliance with The Football Associations requirements for community use pitches.
